On behalf of the entire team involved in the organisation of the 20 th annual conference of MEA it is a pleasure to invite you to come to Hobart Tasmania to celebrate once again the major annual gathering of our industry.
This conference is unique and provides an opportunity for those in the business events industry to stay up to date with the latest technology and industry practices and to form essential networks. Many of us look forward to reaffirming old friendships and creating new ones in such a conducive environment and during the conference there will be plenty of time to share invaluable experiences and knowledge with colleagues.
Take this opportunity to visit the unique and exciting destination of Tasmania and participate in what promises to be an outstanding educational and social program, and at the same time, support the goals and mission of MEA.
MEA 2007 will activate us all in a way which will leave us richer in knowledge, invigorated through participation and expanded in friendships and contacts. This will therefore be a conference that none of you should miss and we look forward to ensuring that it will be a truly memorable occasion in every way.
I look forward to your company for what will be a true celebration of our industry.

When it is time to launch conference registration information and fees, there is a hint that a conference is not far away. This is indeed the case with the 20th Annual Meetings & Events Industry National Conference to be held from 1 to 3 April 2007 in Hobart. Three days of good work and play awaits.
The business program, will provide an enormity of information to all attending and very much focuses on the Conference Theme – An Island in a Sea of Change. The Program Committee has worked hard to ensure that there is something for all MEA members as well as others who will be attending.
As it is ten years since the last MEA Conference was held in Tasmania, it is certainly time to return – in fact timing is just perfect to plan some respite, as the conference falls immediately prior to Easter. Take up the opportunity of spending a few days pre or post to enjoy the delights of this magical island. You have been provide with unique pre and post activities and holiday packages over Easter. Please support our MEA members and register for fun lunches, great day tours and pre conference dinners. You will not be sorry.
On behalf of the Organising Committees, I look forward to welcoming you all to Hobart.
